Going to Joburg…NOT.

At the beginning of the year my older sister moved to Jo’burg, so one of my friends and I have been waiting patiently for over a month for the 26th of May 2011 to show its face. Jo’burg here we come! Each of us managed to save over R3000 for the 4 days we planned on spending there.

Last boarding call for flight MN108. Cape Town to Jo’burg. Taking off at 8PM on the 26th of May 2011.

Instead of flapping my boarding pass in the air shouting: “We’re here!”. I was in the hospital recovering from my emergency surgery I had on Wednesday. My doctor refused to let me go.

I’m not going to explain in detail what happened and how, because I want to go to bed and rest. Most of you anyways know about my tummy aches and blah blah blah. Thanks for all the good luck and get well messages. It really made me feel better and more relaxed. When I see all of you guys again, and I’m all healed up, I’ll show you my scars. Hehe ;)

Something funny my doctor told me… He said after my surgery they woke me up before taking me back to my room (they have to make sure you wake up from your anesthetics before you go back to sleep again), I then opened my eyes, lifted my head and asked: “What the f@ck is going on here?” and went back to sleep. He said they couldn’t help but laugh.

I’m glad to report that we rescheduled our trip and will be leaving for Jo’burg on the 9th of June. Yay!

  1. So happy that things turned out for the best after all. Your experience taught me that one day everything can be fine, and the next day...can be a disaster! Life is too short to be taken seriously and also, the plans you make...are not your own, God makes plans for us in the end, he maps out our lives. can't wait to see you again, if I don't, have a AMAZING AMAZING holiday in Jozi--you deserve it! xx

  2. I learned the exact same lesson... DON'T expect anything, because you don't know what God has planned for you. We all have to learn to take it easy, because today you stress and tomorrow you may not be here. I refuse to stress and devote all my time to work. I'm making sure that I spend much more time with my parents and my family and the people that I love.
