Thank goodness for Foster The People

My new found glory and happiness lies in the lyrics and musical talent of these three guys. Most people are familiar with the song “Pumped Up Kicks”, but for me literally all their songs put me at ease and smack a great big mother f-ing smile on my face. I can’t help to shout along and dance like a crazy person when I listen to their music. If you listen with only one ear there will be sounds, beeps and bleeps, chimes and words you will fail to hear. I bought the CD yesterday, and haven’t stopped listening to it since. I can’t choose my favourite song, but it is probably “Helena Beat”. Further take a listen to “Call It What You Want”, “Waste” (Very inspirational song), “I would do anything for you”, and “Don’t Stop”. Guaranteed awesomeness!!!

Watch this space

Everything seems to be coming together, but just not quite yet. A few more tiny steps to go then I’ll get there. The place I want to be, the place I’ve been working very hard towards for the last few years. It’s still a vision, but I can see the silhouette becoming much clearer everyday. It is creeping closer and closer, as if it has a hidden agenda, and before you know it SUCCESS bites you on your ass, grabs you by the life and follows you everywhere you go. Great things are written in the books of those who want it, I want it. I don’t trend with the others, cause then I’m a follower. I just sit and laugh at those who do.

M. J. K

I would like to dedicate this post to a beloved friend, brother and son who passed away 5 years ago. He would have celebrated his 22nd birthday today, the 20th of September 2011.

PS: Jy bly my pilot...to the left, to the left.

My favourite Cat in the Hat book is……???

I am very embarrassed to say that I have never ever in my life read one of The Cat in the Hat books. I went to Google it, since I have no idea what it is about or how many books there are. I do believe I recognize the actual drawing of the cat and do recall the name “Dr. Seuss”.

I was into Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Toy Story and Bambi books. Never have I laid eyes on this Cat in the Hat you speak of, but yeah I have heard of it.

I will make it my life mission this week to go take out at least one Cat in the Hat book and actually read it. It looks amusing, when I got to the actual web-site of Dr. Seuss they had this funky beat playing in the background and games you can play.  (I played one hehe). Apparently I have a gap in my education until I read these books.

The Power of Association – Collin Powell

The Power of Association is too real: "The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider this: Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who is not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl, but if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.
"A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses." The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and the bad. Note: Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends". -Colin Powell.

My mother received this in a form of an email last week and put it on my desk for me to read. I guess she is under the impression that I am associating myself with the wrong people hehe!! Only joking.

I’m not saying that you must judge people and try to be better than others. Just be careful who you ‘hang out’ with. I don’t think we realize what a huge impact the wrong person (especially one with a negative or know it all attitude

Why I have conversations?

I sometimes have in-depth conversations with myself, when I’m driving or alone at home. Don’t think I’m weird; I do this to get to know myself a little better.

I have conversations with friends and family because I love them, and there’s nothing that brings you closer together than a good old fashioned conversation. Taking interest within the other person, listening and caring for what they have to say.

I even have conversations with my dog; I believe he can understand through the sound and pitch of my voice what I’m saying and how I’m feeling.

I also have random conversations with random people in random places, like when I go out (if ever) and ‘get my party on’ haha. I like having conversations with ‘randies’, but not ‘sketchy’s’. You get to meet new and interesting people thins way, thus learn what type of people you like to associate yourself with.

Please note: There is a huge difference between ‘talking’ and ‘having a conversation’. If you are blabbering and only talking about your oh so interesting self, you are NOT having a conversation.

Why is there always space for pudding?

Have you noticed that? Even when you are super full and waiting for you jeans’ button to pop off and your belly to drop to the ground, you always have left over space for dessert. I do that, my friends do that, and my family too. I suppose there are many more of you who also after stuffing your face and begging for mercy, you still grab that chocolate cake, ice cream or brownie when all the food is gone.

I just did that now. Telling my family that I can’t eat one more bite or I’m tickets and they will have to take me to the hospital. The next thing I knew there was Ferrero Rocher and other chocolates in front of my green, ready to blow up face. Then, there I was with a chocolate ball eating it with ease AND enjoying it.

So, this is my theory.

You have your stomach, and when you eat food (not pudding) it fills up your tummy and you feel full…BUT!! You have this little empty pocket or bag hanging right next to your stomach made especially for dessert or sweets, and when the right time comes, the pudding goes there. Thus you will always have more than enough room for your dessert never mind how much you had to eat. J

Ring-Ring Aaaaaah!!

This post is random and definitely pointless.

I really badly dislike a landline telephone. Whenever it rings I just yell…MAAAAAMMA!! PAAAAAPPA!! TELEFOON LUI!!...and then I ignore it.

I don’t like getting up to answer it and I definitely don’t like spending to much time on it, because I was obviously busy with something before you phoned. You also can’t see who is phoning and maybe it is someone you don’t want to talk to. Sometimes I tell my parents if it is for me they should tell the person I am not home, but they never do because they say they aren’t going to lie for me hahaha.

Why do you think I have a cellphone, if you are looking for me you can contact me via i-cell-u-lar a thank a you!! Like when I’m still in bed, my cell is right next to me so it is literally just an arm movement away. P-p-p-please don’t make me get out of my warm bed.

PS: Guess what?? Just as I finished this post the phone rang. I thought I was going to throw it against the wall. It was mocking me, dammit.

My big fat BIG dream

Most of you already know this so I don’t really see the point of blogging about it again, but it is a great big fat BIG dream of mine. I will do anything I possibly can in my future to live out this dream. It is the most important thing to me after my family and my very close friends.

If you hadn’t guessed it by now, my huge, gigantic, enormous, great big fat dream is to work with animals. Yes!!! If you know me you probably had it right from the start. My passion, not just my dream is to work with and save animals for the rest of my life. To go with that I would like to find the creepy, dirty low life humans who abuse any kind of animal and lock them up for life. I want to poach the poachers and save the rhino’s!!!! I want to free the lions and let the dolphins and sharks ride the waves in peace forever. The dogs and cats that stay with their owners even when mistreated, I want to give them a home.

My friend and I are planning on buying a farm to house all homeless and abused pets, and to provide them with a sweet loving and caring home. I know there are thousands of homeless and abused animals out there, but luckily there are many people like me out there willing to lend a helping hand. I know I am not alone.

Thus I want to be involved with house pets and wild life. I literally freak out when I go to visit a bird park or an animal sanctuary, and jump up and down like a little girl. I know I will always get that ‘feel good feeling’ for the rest of my life when I live my BIG FAT life-sized dream!! Can’t wait!!!
